MercyMe is a contemporary Christian music band that originated in Greenville, Texas, United States. The band was formed in 1994 and consists of lead vocalist Bart Millard, keyboardist James Phillip Bryson, percussionist Robby Shaffer, bassist Nathan Cochran, and guitarists Michael John Scheuchzer and Barry Graul.

MercyMe gained widespread recognition with their breakout hit single “I Can Only Imagine,” released in 2001. The song, written by Bart Millard, reflects on the idea of what it would be like to stand in the presence of God in heaven. It became a crossover success, reaching mainstream audiences and earning numerous awards and nominations.

Since their breakthrough, MercyMe has released several successful albums, including “Almost There” (2001), “Spoken For” (2002), “Undone” (2004), “Coming Up to Breathe” (2006), and “The Generous Mr. Lovewell” (2010). They have produced numerous hit singles in the Christian music charts, such as “Word of God Speak,” “Here with Me,” “You Reign,” and “Flawless.”
